He departed this life on November 12, 2021. "Tom", as he was called by family and friends was educated in the public schools of Richland County and he graduated from A. C. Flora High School. Afterwards, he attended Benedict College and played basketball. While at Benedict, he decided to go into the United States Army where he served honorably. After the serving in the military, he studied Tool & Die at Midlands Technical College. He was a former CNC Machine Operator at Square D Company, from which he retired. After, retirement, Tom became a member of the St. Luke Baptist Church, and there he became a ordained deacon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jasper Lykes, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Prescott and his wife, Gloria Yvonne Williams Prescott. Left to cherish fond and precious memories: his children, Khalilah Prescott, of Columbia, SC and Quincy Prescott, of North Carolina; two grandchildren, Shakirah Chapman and Qua'eisha Prescott, both of Columbia, SC' four great-grand children, Sha'Miya Summers, Ava Melton, Sa'niyah Canzater and Shontah Canzater, Jr.; two sisters, Deborah Prescott (Westover) Brown and Sandra Prescott, both of Columbia, SC; two brothers, Frankie Tucker and Reginald (Robbin) Tucker, both of Columbia, SC; two step sisters, Carolyn Lykes Kelly and Elaine Lykes both of Columbia, SC; Aunt Lila Prescott of Columbia, SC; two uncles, Samuel Prescott of Columbia, SC and Joe Prescott, Jr. of New York; and a host of other relatives and friends.
