He departed this life and was called home on Sunday morning, October 25, 2020 at his home in Columbia, S.C. Riley was a graduate of Columbia High School, Class of 1973. He was also a graduate of Midland Technical College. He served honorably in The United States Army for 13 years and was classified as a US Army Ranger. At the time of his departure, he was the pastor of Zion Grove Baptist in Millette, S.C, where he served faithfully for over twenty-five years. In his religious endeavors, his greatest joy was teaching the Word of God. He was a loving and caring person and possessed a warm personality and believed strongly in the ‘Unity and Welfare of His Family’. He was employed with the State Newspaper for many years until his health declined. He was a member of Dumbarton Masonic Lodge #371 of Barnwell, S.C., as a Junior Warden. He was also a member of the Martin Male Chorus of Martin, S.C. Riley is preceded in death by his parents, his late brothers, Arthur and James Brown. He is survived by his close relatives Mariah (Mike) Armstrong and Edward (Yvonne) Cohen of Columbia, S.C. and sister- in-Law, Olean Brown of Lincoln, Nebraska and a host of nieces and nephews of Nebraska and New York.
