She was born on January 22, 1945, the first child born to the late Thomas and Mary Magelene Gibson Clinton. Mary was a faithful member of Cedar Creek African Methodist Church, where she gave her life to Christ and served with love and devotion. Mary was a proud graduate of C. A. Johnson High School and after her education, she dedicated her life to serving others. Mary spent many years working in the community, including in the cafeteria at E. E. Taylor, Columbia College and University of South Carolina. She also cared for infants at the daycare and later worked at Midland Center as a human service aide, supporting individuals with special needs until her retirement. Mary was known for her soft spoken nature, her deep love of the bible-knowing it from beginning to end- and her gentle, nurturing spirit. Mary loved to sew, cook, bake, sharing her gifts with everyone around her. She adored her nieces and nephews, always offering them love and support. Mary was a proud member of the Clinton Sisters singing group, where she shared her love of music and fellowship. Mary's faith, kindness and her lifelong dedication to her family, church, and community will forever be cherished. Mary was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Lewis W. and Thomas Clinton, Jr.; two sisters, Barbara Ann Clinton and Maggie Lee Clinton Samuel. Left to cherish precious memories are: two sisters, Thomasina Robinson and Carrie Jenkins, both of Columbia, SC; three brothers, Henry James (Sherri) Clinton, Malverce (Teretha) Clinton, both of Columbia, SC ad Issac (Ulanda) Clinton, Norcross, GA; a special nephew, Xavier and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m, Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Little Zion Baptist Church, 8229 Winnsboro Road, Blythewood, South Carolina 29016. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. The Reverend Eddie W. Davis, Pastor, The Reverend C. J. Butler, officiant. Ms. Myers will lie in-state at the church one hour prior to the service time. Public viewing will be held from 12 noon until 6:00 p.m., Friday, May 15, 2026 and from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 16, 2026 at A. A. Dicks Funeral Home. Like our Facebook page: A. A.
