Mr. Joseph Bernard Dunlap

Joseph "Joe" Bernard Dunlap was born March 25, 1975 in Columbia, South Carolina to the late Frank Edward Dunlap and the late Joyce L. Rhodes. The Lord called him home on July 16, 2022 after an unexpected illness. Joe, as he was affectionately known, was educated in the public schools of Lexington County, South Carolina and graduated from Gilbert High School Class of 1993. Joe was an excellent basketball and football player and loved sports. As a child, with his brother, sister and cousins attended St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church of Lexington, South Carolina. Joe was employed with SRI Insulation Company as a truck driver. Joseph was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew and cousin to all his family. He loved all his children and grandchildren always talking about their achievements and helping them in any way he could. Joe enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Though he is no longer physically with us, his loving and kind spirit will be with all who knew and loved him. Those left to cherish his memories are: his loving children, Tre (Haley) B. Dunlap, Kamron Dunlap, Maliah Dunlap, Leigha Dunlap, Caleb Skinner all of Columbia, South Carolina and Taylor J. Dunlap of Wisconsin; two grandchildren, Avianna Dunlap and Jayden Dunlap; a brother, Frank Dunlap; two sisters, Althea Jaivon Dunlap and Katrina Courtland; two aunts, Priscilla A. Coleman of Orangeburg, South Carolina and Yvonne G. Livington of Lexington, South Carolina; two uncles, Zachary (Geraldine) J. Dunlap, Sr. of Lexington, South Carolina and Gary Dunlap of Peekskill, New York; loving cousins with whom he was reared, Raymond Coleman, Jr., Juanita Dunlap, Zachary J. Dunlap, Jr., Earline (LaRon) Mcleod and Megan Robertson and a host of other relatives and friends all whom will miss him dearly. The Dunlap family acknowledges with grateful appreciation, all of your kind expressions of love and sympathy. Funeral Service will be held 1:00 p.m., Sunday, July 24, 2022 at A. A. Dicks Funeral Home Sullivan Chapel, 2548 Main Street, Columbia, South Carolina 29201. Pastor A. A. Dicks, Sr., officiating.
