Mrs. Cornelia "Nene" Palmer

Mrs. Cornelia Palmer, 69, of Columbia, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 8, 2024 at MUSC Health Columbia Medical Center Downtown. She was born January 5, 1956 to the union of the late Arthur and Ophelia Holmes Evans, a Columbia native. She was a 1975 graduate of Eau Claire High School. A lifelong member of Ridgewood Missionary Baptist Church where she served as an usher and dedicated her voice to uplifting praises to God with the Mass choir. She was a dedicated employee at LRADAC Addiction Treatment Center, The University of South Carolina Russell House Bookstore; Pharmacy Tech for Walmart, and Ridgewood Missionary Baptist Church Environmental Services. Cornelia was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Ophelia Evans; son, Brandon Palmer; sisters, Linda Charlene Bethel, Maxine Taylor, and Connie Geter; brothers, Arthur Evans, Jr. and Cleveland Evans. She leaves to cherish precious memories: her husband of fifty-one years, Cleveland Palmer; a daughter, Tameka Palmer; a son, Cleveland (Maine) Palmer; nine grandchildren, Shymariah Palmer, London Palmer, Destiny Gibbs, Corinthian Palmer, Brandon Palmer, Marquell Palmer, DJ Palmer, Jace Clark and Kaleb Palmer; a sister, Nancy Reed; two aunts, Marie Mitchell and Shirley Evans; brothers-in-law, Johnny Bethel, David Taylor, Edward (Betty) Palmer, Jr. and Ernest Palmer; sisters-in-law, Dolores Hawkless and Eileen Harkless; two goddaughters, Noltonya Harris and Ja-Veka Smith; three bestfriends, Sarah Taylor, Patricia Manigault and Gwendolyn Pittman and a host of other loving relatives and friends. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at Ridgewood Missionary Baptist Church, 5326 Ridgeway Street, Columbia, South Carolina 29203. Reverend Darrius Graves, Pastor, Reverend Fred W. Coit, officiating. Interment to follow in The Promised Land Cemetery. Mrs. Palmer will lie in-state one hour prior to the service time. Public viewing will be held from 12 noon until 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 16, 2024 and from 9:00 a.m., until 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at A. A. Dicks Funeral Home. Like our Facebook page: A.
