Public Viewing for Mrs. Clara Robinson will be held on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 from 12:00 Noon until 6:00 P.M. at A. A. Dicks Funeral Home - Sullivan Chapel, 2548 Main Street, Columbia, SC 29201. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at 12:00 Noon at A. A. Dicks Funeral Home - Sullivan Chapel, 2548 Main Street, Columbia, SC 29201. Interment will follow in The Promised Land Cemetery. Mrs. Clara Robinson, 89, was born on April 18, 1932 in Columbia, South Carolina to the late Judge Hampton and Madeline Harris Hampton, the 9th of 12 children. She departed this earthly life on Friday, September 24, 2021 in Columbia, SC. Clara attended St. Martins Catholic School and was later educated in the Public Schools of Richland County, where she attended Booker T. Washington. She traveled to Brooklyn, New York at an early age to live and work. After many years away, she returned to Columbia, and was employed with Richland School District Two at Dent Middle School in food service. At an early age she joined Shiloh Baptist Church, after moving to Columbia, she united with The Fellowship Baptist Church where she served faithfully until her health declined. She was preceded in death by her parents, Judge and Madeline Hampton, her son, Wadoo Shabazz, her daughter, Marilyn Washington, six sisters: Mildred, Amy, Theodosia, Maggie, Dorothy, and Betty. and five brothers: Wade, Judge, Willie, Edward, and Freddie. Left to treasure precious memories are her daughters, Lorraine Robinson of Raleigh, NC, Ruth Harris of Richmond, VA, Sandra Wilson of Columbia, SC; son, Ronnie Robinson of Columbia, SC; grandson, Antione Dion Bethea raised in the home; daughter-in-law, Linda Shabazz of Columbia, SC; son-in-law, Andrew Washington of Columbia, SC; 19 grandchildren, and a host of loving great-grands, in-laws, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
