Affectionately known as "CJ", was born June 5, 1998, the youngest child to the late Robyn Green McCarthy and Christopher McCarthy, Sr. Christopher was educated in the public schools of Richland County. He graduated from Westwood High School being one of the top talented athletes in his class, Class of 2016. After high school Christopher attended Greenville Technical College, and later became a mechanic. After serving a few years of providing excellent motor vehicle services. Chris went on to pursue a career of driving trucks for N. W. White Trucking Company. His passion being a truck driver insipired Chris to get his CDL and becoming one of the best professional truck drivers at Schneider Trucking. His love remains at Easy and Quick Transportation Services. When Cris went to any family events, he was the life of the party. His laugh and his smile always brought great warth to any atmosphere. Chris was a loyal Cowboys Football fan. He enjoyed life and never met a stranger. He was a teddy bear, gentle giant, and a human spiirt who loved God. Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Robyn Green McCarthy; grandfather, Robert Green; grandmother, Mary McCarthy; grandfather, Johnny McCarthy. Christopher leavs to cherish his precious memories: his father, Christopher (Barbara) McCarthy, Sr.; his sisters, Christian McCarthy and Brittany; his brothers, Jamal Gunter, Eligah and Jonathan; grandmother, Alma Green; special friend, Miss Telaia Martin and a host of other loving relatives and friends. Funeral service will be 4:00 p.m., Sunday, August 23, 2026 at Friendship Baptist Church, 1237 House Street, Columbia, South Carolina 29204. Interment to follow in Promised Land Cemetery. The Reverend A. A. Dicks, Sr., Pastor, Bishop Fred Johnson, officiant. Mr. McCarthy will lie in-state in the church ne hour prior to the service time. Public viewing will be held from 12 noon until 6:00 p.m, Saturday, August 22, 2026 and from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Sunday, August 23, 2026 at the funeral home. Like our Facebook page: A. A.
