Mr. Aaron Lamar Johnson, Sr.

Public Viewing for Mr. Aaron Lamar Johnson, Sr. will be Friday, February 14, 2020 from Noon till 6:00 P.M. at A. A. Dicks Funeral Home Sullivan Chapel, located 2548 Main Street, Columbia, SC 29201. Services will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 11:00 A.M at Friendship Baptist Church, located 1237 House Street, Columbia, SC 29204. Interment will take place in the Palmetto Cemetery, located 5050 Fairfield Rd, Columbia, SC 29203 Aaron “Smurf” Johnson, Sr., was born, August 6, 1969 to the late Charles Johnson, Sr. and Linda Diane Ellison Johnson. While surrounded by his loved ones, he transitioned to eternal rest, on February 11, 2020 after a brief illness. He was a 1987 graduate of Keenan High School. Aaron was a very caring and empathetic person, and he strived to help those who crossed his path. He wanted the best for his family and consistently encouraged them to grow and he was supportive of his family’s dreams. He leaves to cherish his memories: his children, Davon Johnson, Aaron Johnson, Jr., and Tyrus Maxwell, Sr. all of Columbia, SC, and Javon Ford, of Florence, SC; three grandchildren, Tyron and Tyrus Maxwell, Jr. and Ariana Johnson, all of Columbia, SC; his brothers, Charles Johnson, Jr. and Kevin Cunningham, both of Columbia, SC and Waki Johnson of Charlotte, NC; a special nephew, Kevin “Key Key” Haigler; special family members, who cared for him during his illness, Geraldine Dunlap, Denise “Neisy” Porcher, and Frances “Van” Johnson; and those who he thought very highly of, Shirley “Ann” Carlos Mr. and Mrs. Manning and Margie Maxwell; and a host of other loving family and friends all of whom will miss him dearly. Please leave the family your condolences and prayers. The Johnson family, acknowledges with grateful appreciation, all of your kind expressions of love and sympathy.
