James Alvin Teague Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

James Alvin Teague, resident of Columbia, South Carolina, passed away at the age of sixty-six on Friday, February 1, 2013. James was born in Kosciusko, Mississippi on January 1, 1947 to the late Jesse James Teague and Donna B. Henderson. At the age of nine, he moved to St. Louis, Missouri with his mother. There, he graduated in 1966 from Soldan High School and furthered his education on a football scholarship at Mesa College, now Colorado Mesa University, in Grand Junction, Colorado. He proudly earned an Associate*s Degree in Liberal Arts. *Shortly after graduation, he married his high school sweetheart, Judith R. Jackson. To this union four children were born: Christopher James, Jason Barnard, Brandy Elizabeth and Joseph Stanley Christian. He moved his family to Columbia, South Carolina in 1978 to help his brother-in-law run his business, Box T Enterprises. He later became the receiving manager at Target where he retired in 2005. *James was a devoted Christian who always enjoyed spending time with his family; especially his grandkids. His hobbies include fishing, farming, telling jokes and having a great time. He was a friend to all and always knew how to make you laugh. He will be missed and forever loved. *James is survived by three sons: Christopher and his wife, Angela, of St. Louis, MO, Jason and his wife, Leslie, of Dumfries, VA and Joseph also of Dumfries, VA; a daughter, Brandy and a sister, Debbie Fulce both of St. Louis, MO; nine grandchildren: Patricia Dearing, Rochelle Washington, Casey, Andrea, Christopher, Sharon, Ryan, Noel, and Jamal Teague; four great-grandchildren; five nieces, several aunts, uncles, cousins; "twenty chickens" and a host of other family and friends.
