Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 22, 2021 at 12:00 Noon at Friendship Baptist Church, 1237 House Street, Columbia, SC 29203. Interment will follow in The Fort Jackson National Cemetery. He departed this earthly life on February 10, 2021, at Aiken Regional Medical Center. George attended Aycock public school from K – 12, graduating in 1957. George was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Rockdale, Texas. He was affectionately known as a little neighborhood preacher, standing on apple boxes under the big tree in his backyard. After graduating high school George worked odd jobs, his most memorable job was being a movie projectionist at the Madison Theater, downtown Rockdale, Texas before joining the honorable United States Air force. During his 20 years of military service George served in Wakkani Air Station in Wakkani, Japan, Misawa AB in Misawa, Japan, Eglin AB – Eglin, Florida, Eielson AB, Fairbanks North Star, Alaska and Kelly Field, San Antonio, Texas, and Pope Army Airfield— Pope Field, NC. George acquired an Associate’s Degree in Accounting and Business, Bachelors Degree in Christian Education, Master’s Degree Theology and Pastoral Counseling and Doctorate of Religion and Jurisprudence. George enjoyed sports, teaching bible study, traveling, and prison ministry, ministering to family and friends. He never met a stranger, always smiling, singing and telling jokes or blessing everyone he met with kind words of encouragements to brighten their day. His favorite scripture was, Romans 12:1 and 2. George shared God’s word at Saint Paul Holiness Church, Jesus Movement Church, Holy Bible Baptist Church and God’s Word Outreach Ministry, all located in Columbia, S.C. George was awarded a Faithful Service Award for volunteering at Central Carolina Health & Rehabilitation Center, Columbia, SC in 1998. George was preceded in death by his brothers, Onix Molden Jr., Desevella Molden and James W. Molden. He is survived by: his wife, Janice Juanita, of twenty-five years; his children, Shania B., Trinity A., Braylen A. all of Columbia, SC, Tony (Michelle) Molden, Dayton, Ohio, Valarie Molden, Dayton, Ohio; Pamela (Charles) Collins, Columbus, Ohio; Anita Carol Jackson, Dayton, Ohio, Cassandra (Warren) Glover, Columbia, SC; his sisters, Veda Tindle, and Birdie Hemphill both of Katy, TX, Lovie Edwards of Baltimore, MD and Molly (Lewis) Perry of Fayetteville, NC; sisters-in-law, Agnes Molden, Austin, TX and Mary L.E. (Larry) Davis, Columbia, SC, Loretta (Tommy) Nixon, of Eastover, SC; brothers-in-law, Garland T. Robinson and Elijah (Brenda) Robinson, both of Columbia, SC, Albert (Wilhelmina) Wallace, of Eastover, SC and Julius Wallace of Jamaica, NY.; he adored all of his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and spiritual family and friends.
