Funeral Services for Mrs. Francene Lane will be held Noon, Saturday, August 1, 2015 at A. A. Dicks Funeral Home Sullivan Chapel. Mrs. Francene Remmings Lane was born May 1, 1944 and was peacefully transitioned from this life into the hands of God on Tuesday, July 28, 2015. She was surrounded by her family and loved ones. Francene lived for Christ; whom she accepted at an early age. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Avon Park, FL. With her selfless and unconditional love, she opened up her heart and home to anyone and everyone she met. She lived an enriched life, frequently traveling as a military wife throughout the United States and Germany. She received degrees in nursing and cosmetology and enjoyed fulfilling careers in both fields. She also worked as a head supervisor at the dining facilities of the military bases in Fort Jackson, SC and Wildflicken Training Area in Germany. Family and Friends were Francene's passion and constant source of delight. She was always a vivacious hostess who enjoyed entertaining family and friends cooking her signature dishes. Most of all, she cherished spending quality time with those she loved. Her hobbies included gardening, singing, dancing, and fishing. She also frequently visited yard sales and often organized her own as well. Mrs. Lane was preceded in death by her two sons, Curtis & Bernard; two brothers, Randolph & Bertraum and three sisters, Vera, Mildred and Betty Lee who now rejoice with her on the other side. "Tiny" "Matida", as she was affectionately known, was a devoted and caring wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt and beloved friend. She leaves a legacy of wonderful memories that will be cherished by her husband, L. C. Lane; children, Tevell & Sarah Brown, Jr., Craig & Therese Brown, and Dawn & Brian Summers; grandchildren, Tevell III, Troy, Ben, Liqunta, Maia & Lila, Kavana, Tramayne, and Brian, Jr.; great grandchildren, Jaydis and Noah; close friend, Doloris Daniels & Pat Razz and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
