Public Viewing for Mrs. Dorothy Mae Crayton - Williams will be Monday, December 30, 2019 from Noon till 6:00 P.M. at A. A. Dicks Funeral Home Sullivan Chapel, located 2548 Main Street, Columbia, SC 29201. Services will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, located 411 Thompson Ave, West Columbia, SC 29169. Interment will follow at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, SC 29229. Dorothy Mae Crayton Williams was born September 8, 1944, to the late Leonard Crayton and Doretha Taylor Crayton in Bradenton, Florida. She went home to be with the Lord Monday, December 23, 2019. On September 1, 1962, Dorothy married the love of her life, Gilbert Robert Williams and remained married for more than fifty years. This union blessed them with three daughters. Sister Williams had a strong and unwavering faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and worshipped faithfully at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in West Columbia, SC where she taught a Sunday School Class. She loved her family and was a great people person; always willing to extend a helping hand to friends and others. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, bowling and reading her Bible. Sister Williams was preceded in death by her husband, Sergeant First Class Gilbert R. Williams, a daughter, Doretha Evans, her parents, three sisters and one brother. She leaves to cherish precious memories: her daughters, Miss Fancy Crayton and Mrs. Bianca (Edward) Walker of Hopkins, SC; four loving grandchildren, one brother, Mr. Bradwell (Willie Mae) Parchment of Palm Beach, FL; one brother-in-law, Mr. David (Vivian) Williams of Hartford, CT; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Elizabeth (Earl) Davis of Springfield, MA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
