She was the daughter of the late Annie Bell Boisy Johnson and Wallace Kitchings. Doris would like to let you know that her work is done here. She received an invitation on September 18, 2018 that she could not refuse for an appointment from which she will not be returning. This appointment comes with a huge sign on bonus in which she qualified for. A place in Jesus’ Kingdom with open arms, a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time, a new resting place where there is no pain, no judgement, no doctors visits, nor fear; only serenity and laughter all at the Throne of Jesus. Just imagine the joy and happiness of accepting this invite. Doris joined Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church at the early age of eleven where she was an active member. She was on several committees such as: the Usher Board, for over twenty years, the Beautification Committee and she picked up the ball in maintaining the church nursery when her mother, Annie Bell Johnson left off due to her passing. Doris attended Martha Schofield High School in Aiken, South Carolina in which she was assigned to be a Hall Monitor due to her strong character in which the principal, Mr. Taylor, saw in her. Doris worked at Mattie C. Hall Healthcare Center for twenty-six years where she received several accolades due to her hard work and promptness. She retired as a dietician with honors. Her hobbies were reading, gardening and interior decorating. She was also the president of the Leo Club where she was a long standing member. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, her only sister, the late Helen (John Taylor) Kitchings and her husband, the late Connie Louis Wooden.
