Ms. Doris Lucille Dunmore Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Ms. Doris L. Dunmore entered into rest on Thursday March 13, 2014. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday March 18, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. from Friendship Baptist Church, 1237 House Street, Columbia, SC. Interment to follow in Promised Land Cemetery. She was born on September 16, 1958 in Columbia, SC to the late Herbert Brown and Helen Dunmore Thomas. "Kuda", as she was affectionately known, was a graduate of W. J. Keenan High School Class of 1976. She also attended Midlands Technical College where she earned an Associates Degree in Business Administration. She was employed with Richland Convalescent Nursing Home for thirty years until her health declined. She was always caring for other family members putting herself last. Her hobbies were baking, reading, clipping coupons and buy everything Martha Stewart sold. Left to cherish fond memories are her step-father, Freddie Thomas; two sisters, Josetta M. Dunmore and Viola Reed; three aunts, Marion Dunmore, Gladys (Joe) Halback and Julia McCray; an uncle, George A. Coleman; two nieces, Tamekico Milligan and Ayanna Pearson; two nephews, Joseph Milligan and Terry Pearson; her favorite cousins, Terry Dunmore Johnson and Cynthia Dunmore who was also her caregiver and true friend; a special friend, Richard; a host of great nieces, nephews, first cousins, other relatives and friends. A. A. Dicks Funeral Home Sullivan Chapel, 2548 Main Street are in charge of these arrangements.
