Interment will take place in the Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, Owings Mills, MD. He departed this life on February 18, 2021 after a lengthy illness. He accepted Christ at an early age and attended Lawson Chapel Church, in Roxboro, NC. He received his early education in the public schools of Roxboro, NC. After graduating high school he enlisted in the United States Army, in 1951 and was honorably discharged in 1953. During his time in the military he received several commendations. Following his service in the military, he became employed at Bethlehem Steel Corporation, in Sparrows Point, Maryland, and worked there for thirty-five years. While in Baltimore he was a member of Pharaoh’s Social Club and the Hiram Masonic Lodge. After retirement in 1993, Dailey relocated to Winnsboro, South Carolina, and drove school buses for Fairfield County School District for more than twenty years. Dailey’s hobbies were watching the day time shows, such as “The Price is Right”, “Let’s Make a Deal”, “Sandford & Son”, the old-timey westerns, and all the sports channels. Dailey was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ada Crowder; his wife, Willie Mae Crowder; his son, John Wayne; his daughter, Janie Bea Green; his brothers, Albert and John Crowder; and sisters, Mary Eanes and Barbara Cox. Dailey was soft spoken and truly kind to everyone he met. He will be deeply missed by everyone he had the pleasure of knowing. He leaves to mourn his memories: his daughters, Dale Baker and Malissa Bryant; his grandchildren, Lynnelle, Shaqunita, Annette (Rodger) Cassandra and Barbara; great-grandchildren, Monye, Makiyah, Morgan, Ashley, Daijah, Madison, and a great-great granddaughter, Autumn; one brother, Bennie Crowder; sister-in-law, Betty Crowder; two sons-in-law, Charlie Baker and James Bryant; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
