Mr. Carroll V. Stewart Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mr. Carroll V. “Big Daddy” Stewart was born on October 25, 1943, in Columbia, South Carolina. He was the second child born to Henry and Addie Mae Richards Stewart Sr. He departed this earthly life on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at Prisma Health Richland Hospital. Carroll was educated in South Carolina’s Richland County public schools. During his lifetime, he was employed at Fort Jackson, Colonial Stores, and The State Newspaper before retiring from Chatham Steel. He was the biggest Dallas Cowboy fan, BBQ Chef, and Farmer. He enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family and caring for his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His love and devotion to his family was his most shining quality and what he will be remembered for most. Carroll met and fell in love with Annie Lee Goodwin. Because of his early acceptance of Jesus as his Lord and Savior, he was blessed with a beautiful union that lasted almost 60 years. He reaffirmed his commitment to Christ in 2020 and was baptized at Oak Grove Baptist Church, where he became a member. Mr. Stewart was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Addie Mae Richards Stewart Sr.; father and Mother-in-law, Willie James (Boy) and Rebecca T. (Sugar) Goodwin, Sr,; a brother, Henry Stewart Jr.; a daughter, Carole Denise Stewart McCants; four brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; and several nephews and nieces. Left to cherish memories of love, laughter and wisdom are: his wife, Annie G. Stewart of Hopkins, SC; three daughters, Juanita S. Smith, Sharon D. Howard, and Rev. April J. Stewart all of Hopkins, SC; one son, Palmer (Annet) Stewart of Hopkins, SC; a son-in-law, McArthur McCants of Hopkins, SC; two brothers, William (Lynn) Stewart of Silver Springs, MD, and Ronald (Jeanie) Stewart of Aurora, CO; five sisters -in-law, Alma G. Dinkins, Rebecca “Sis” Goodwin, and Patricia R. Goodwin of Hopkins, SC, Carolyn G. Jones and Betty G. Byrd of Columbia, SC; a brother-in-law; Harold (Sandra) Goodwin Sr. of Chapin, SC; twenty-one grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild; a host of loving nephews, nieces, relatives, and dear friends, all of whom will miss her dearly. Funeral Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 1063 Old Two Notch Road, Pontiac, South Carolina 29045. Reverend Dr. Willie J.
