Mr. Bernard L. Burley Sr.

Funeral services for Mr. Bernard L. "Cheeze" Burley, Sr. 39, will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Friendship Baptist Church, 1237 House Street, Columbia, SC 29204. Interment to follow in The Promised Land Cemetery. Public Viewing will be Friday January 8, 2016 from 12-7 p.m. at A. A. Dicks Funeral Home. Mr. Burley entered into rest on Sunday, January 3, 2016. A. A. Dicks Funeral Home Sullivan Chapel, 2548 Main Street, Columbia is in charge of these services. Bernard was born January 27, 1976 in Columbia, South Carolina. He was the son of the late John E. and Rosalie Lindsey Burley. "Cheeze", as he was affectionately known, attended the public schools of Richland County and married the former, Felicia Brooks at an early age. Bernard was employed with the L. M. Gressett Center for Disabilities and Special Needs. Mr. Burley was a long time member of St. Peter Baptist Church of Irmo, South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James Lindsey. Left to cherish precious memories are: three dovoted sons, Bernard L. Burley, Jr., Lamar D. Burley and Jamar A. Burley; a daughter, Bernicqua S. Burley; wife, Felicia Brooks - Burley; a sister, Margie (Brian) Burley; brothers, Antonio (Ernestine) Burley, John E. Burley, Jr., Jakari and Shamari Jones; three uncles, James, David and Robert Johnson; an aunt, Catherine Dicky; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and a special long tome friend, Loretta Dawkins all of whom join with the family in sharing the grief caused by his early departure.
