Ms. Yolanda Joyce Richardson

Ms. Yolanda Joyce Richardson was born March 12, 1958 in Richland County to the late Raymond and Rosa Mae Jackson Richardson, Sr. She transitioned from this earth to her eternal home on May 22, 2019 at Midlands Health and Rehabilitation Center in Columbia, South Carolina. “Landa”, as she was affectionately known, attended the public schools of Richland County. She accepted the Lord, Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized at an early age. She took joy in raising two of her loving grandchildren as well as being a phenomenal mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and cousin. Landa is remembered as a fun-loving, outspoken, hardworking woman. Though she “spoke her mind” and was frank, she would give you her last. She was like a chef in the kitchen and made great sweet potato pies. Some of her favorite pastimes were: crossword puzzles, playing cards; especially Roman 5000, shopping for furniture, drawing, walking, eating ice and fish fillet and drinking her coffee and Coke Colas. She loved spending time with her family, reading the Bible and caring for her nieces and nephews as her own. Yolanda was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Anthony, Reginald, Arden, Palmer and Alexander Richardson; paternal grandmother, Ruby Richardson Harper and maternal grandparents, John and Julia Jackson. Left to cherish precious memories are: her daughters, Tonya R. Oliver, Chana M. Richardson Hunt and Trasheba Richardson; a son, Joseph E. Williams; ten grandchildren, Michael D. Oliver, Lexus J. Oliver, Shanique Y. Jennings, Vencent T. Jennins, Jr., Tajah Weston, Antonia Jacskon all of Columbia, SC, Ceasar Richardson, Elisha, Fard, Faakhirah McFadden all of Philadelphia, PA; nine great grandchildren, (Gigi’s babies) Layla, Journee, Shakur all of Columbia, SC, Saaniya, Saadiyah, Saaliyah, Mia, Ja’Sai and Jeffrey all of Philedelphia, PA; eight sisters, Jewl R. (Thomas) Pauling, Virginia D. Yon, Melvenia (Alveno) Hairston, Valerie Richardson, Deborah F. Bell, Vivien Richardson, Jacqueline (D’Mitry) Brown, Sr. and Constance Richardson; two brothers, Raymond, Jr. and Lawrence Richardson all of Columbia, SC; two aunts, Lula Mae and Vertella Jackson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other loving relatives and so many friends who adored her.
