Redmond, 64, of Columbia, South Carolina has entered into eternal rest on February 17, 2026 at Prisma Health Richland Hospital. He was born on July 23, 1961, in Greenville County, South Carolina to the late Willie Joe and Ellen Todd Redmond. At an early age, he became a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Simpsonville, South Carolina and Rock of Ages Baptist Church in Greenville, South Carolina. After a move to Columbia, Vincent and his family joined First Nazareth Baptist Church and served as a usher, a greeter, a Sunday School officer, and a member of the Trustee Board. In 2024, Vincent was recognized for fifty years of service to First Nazareth Baptist Church. Vincent began his education in Greenville County School District. He ended his secondary education as a member of the C. A. Johnson Class of 1979. He attended Wofford College and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Benedict College in 1984. Vincent worked during his teenage years at Giant Food World. After college, he continued his career at the Department of Social Services, RMG Mortgage Group, Columbia Housing Authority and Family Dollar. Vincent was a dependable worker who demanded workplace structure and accountability. Vincent enjoyed life through his love of people, food, baseball, and a good laugh. Vincent will always be remembered for his gentlemanly manner, his kind heart and loving soul. Vincent memory will be cherished by: his brother, Dr. Willie J. Redmond, Jr.; two sisters, Naylene (Kenneth) Richardson and Cathy Redmond-Dilligard; two nephews, Jonathan Richardson and Jeremy Richardson; a niece/goddaughter, Maya Dilligard; his grandnephew, Ricky Reese, III; his uncle and aunt, James and Patricia Redmond; his uncle, Willie Williams, Jr.; his aunt, Annie R. Morton and a host of other loving relatives and friends. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 23, 2026 at First Nazareth Baptist Church, 2351 Gervais Street, Columbia, South Carolina 29204. Interment to follow in Memorial Garden of Columbia. Reverend Dr. Blakley N. Scott, Pastor, officiant. Mr. Redmond will lie in-state at the church one hour prior to the service time.
