Mr. Sammie Tyrone Walters "LOBO"

Psalm 91: 1 “He who dwells in the secret place of the most high will rest in the shadow of the almighty.” Mr. Sammie Tyrone Walters, the Son of the late Sammie Lee Walters and his loving mother, Mary Lee Session Walters of the home, was born on September 23, 1962 in Sumter, South Carolina. His rose was chosen to go home to the Master to finish growing on May 7, 2023, at his home. Tyrone or “LOBO” as he was affectionately called, attended Rock Hill Baptist Church in Manning, South Carolina where he received Christ as his Lord and savior. He was baptized at an early age and served in many capacities including The Junior Male Chorus and The Usher Board. Tyrone attended the public schools of Sumter, South Carolina and graduated with the Class of 1980. He was employed at Omni for numerous years and Campbell Pavement Specialties for 33 years. He is preceded in death by his father, Sammie Lee Walter; wife, Mrs. Fulisha Tindal Walters; sister, Frances Maxfield-Hastle (Derrick). He leaves to cherish his beautiful memories: his children, Marcus Frierson of Alabama, Sammie Montgomery, Quintin Weldon, Lakesah Cooley, Monique Taylor, Tanasia and Tyleek Walters, and a stepson, Tavoris Witherspoon, all of Sumter, SC; a loving and doting sister of the home, Tora Walters, his oldest sister, Mrs. Gloria Jean (Julian) Davis and his bonus sister, Reverend Sandra Simmons; eighteen grandchildren and one great grandchild; three aunts, Gussie M. Ragin, Ola Mae Walters and Mary Walters of Sumter, SC; two uncles, Esau Walters of Sumter, SC and James Session of Japan and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The Walters family acknowledges with grateful appreciation, all of your kind expressions of love and sympathy. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Canty Memorial Church of God in Christ, 873 Woodcrest Street, Sumter, South Carolina 29154. Interment to follow in Hillside Memorial Park. Public viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Friday, May 12, 2023 and from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Canty Memorial Church of God In Christ.
