Mrs. Roberta C. Bright

Mrs. Roberta C. Bright, 89, of Richtex, South Carolina has entered into eternal rest on September 10, 2025 at Prisma Health Baptist Hospital. She was born June 27, 1936 in the Richtex Community of Winnsboro, South Carolina to the late Lillie Mae Bell Cook and Isaac Cook Sr. At an early age, she confessed Jesus Christ and was baptized and joined Zion Pilgrim Baptist Church where she served faithfully on the Junior Jubilee Choir, the Usher's Ministry, and the Missionary Society. She loved to cook and bake, and loved giving her cakes and pies away to loved ones even more. She loved watching game shows and her stories. She really enjoyed talking on the phone and in person but her favorite hobby was doing word puzzles books. She was a loving mother of seven children and a loving grandmother of four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She kept many children from their birth and became a mother and grandmother figure to many people. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lillie Mae Cook and Isaac Cook, Sr.; her husband, Paul Ernest Bright, Sr.; her six sisters, Maggie Hightower, Cora Lee Smith, Alice Henderson, Carrie Lou Goodwin, Johnnie Mae Thompson, and Ella Mae Ervin; her three brothers, Eddie Cook, L. J. Cook, and Isaac Cook, Jr.; two daughters, Loretta Ashley and Paulette Bright. She leaves to cherish memories of her: four sons, Paul Bright, Jr., Randolph Bright, Dennis Bright, and Bobby Bright; a daughter, Barbara Bright; four grandchildren, Charles (Theresa) Ashley, Myron Ashley, Sonovia Harmon, and Christopher Brown; two great-grandchildren, Charles Ashley, II and Ayanna Ashley; five sisters-in-law, Dorothy Lewis, Sallie Johnson, Hattie Bright, Evelyn Bright, and Etta Bright; three brothers-in-law, Joseph Bright, Robert Bright and Sylvester Bright. Funeral service will be Noon, Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at Zion Pilgrim Baptist Church (Richtex), 11121 Monticello Road, Winnsboro, South Carolina 29180. Reverend Ronald I. Best, Pastor, officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. No public viewing.
