He was born on January 19, 1958 and raised by his mother and the only father he ever knew, the late Robert and Mattie Lee Kennedy-Tucker. After being educated in the public schools of Richland County, where he began working for the City of Columbia, and later he worked serveral different types of construction jobs. Finally, the two jobs that he loved, Supervisor at The SC State Farmers Market, and his mobile fruits & vegatables business selling in neighborhoods throughout the Columbia area. He gave away more than he sold, but he enjoyed it. He continued the jobs he loved until his health began to fail. Norman was a jokester, always smiling and staying positive. He had a can do type of personality that never met a stranger. He was always moving and doing, trying to help anybody in need. Before Norman obtain transportation, he would have to make three bus transfers and walk a distance in the early morning hours, just to get to work and be there timely. A very dependable and determined young man. Norman was preceded in death by his step-father and mother, Robert Kennedy and Mattie Lee Kennedy-Tucker; his maternal and paternal grandparents; a baby girl from crib death; a brother, Micah Kadell Kennedy. He leaves to cherish precious memories: his wife, Genevieve Davis of Columbia, SC; two sons, Travis Harrison of Greenwood, SC and Andrea Miller of Camden, SC; a daughter, Kimberly Harrison of Greenwood, SC; two brothers, Stanley Christopher Davis and Ronnie Kennedy all of Columbia, SC; a sister, Cynthia (George) Hayes of Columbia, SC; five grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 14, 2026 at A. A. Dicks Funeral Home, 6400 North Main Street, Columbia, South Carolina 29203. Interment to follow in Promised Land Cemetery. Bishop Hunter Thomas, officiant. Public viewing will be held from 12 noon until 6:00 p.m., Friday, March 13, 2026 at A. A. Dicks Funeral Home. Like our Facebook page: A. A.
