Ms. Lucille Holloway Dubard

Lucille Holloway Dubard was born June 25, 1939 in Willington, South Carolina. She was the beloved daughter of the late, Lillie Ree New. Lucille was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at Pruitt Health in Columbia, South Carolina. Lucille was educated in the public schools in Greenwood, South Carolina and a high school graduate of Brewer High School, Class of 1959. She later moved to Columbia, South Carolina and called it her home. Lucille was employed for thirty-five (35) years with the University of South Carolina as a supervisor in housekeeping. She often spoke of her love working directly for the President, the late James Holderman and his family. Lucille was a member of Zion Chapel Baptist Church #1 where she enjoyed singing on the Senior Jubilee Choir until her health began to fail. She had a love for meeting and talking to people and she was never at a loss for words. No one was a stranger to Lucille and she’d always find conversation. She was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone that was in need. She will be missed by all those that knew and loved her. Those who will forever cherish fond and precious memories of Lucille are her sister: Bobbie Ruffin of Darby, Pennsylvania; niece, Dwana Lazarus; nephew, Glenn Ruffin; devoted nephew and niece, William (Kenya) Cannon who were her caregivers; two special cousin, Odell Middleton and Wylene Patten; a host of other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will miss her dearly, but rejoicing that she is now resting with the Lord. The Dubard family acknowledges with grateful appreciation, all of your kind expressions of love and sympathy. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 18, 2023 at A. A. Dicks Funeral Home Sullivan Chapel, 6400 North Main Street, Columbia, South Carolina 29203. Reverend Darrius Graves, officiating. Interment to follow in the Promised Land Cemetery. Public viewing will be from 12 noon until 5:00 p.m., Friday, March 17, 2023 and from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 18, 2023 at A. A. Dicks Funeral Home Sullivan Chapel.
