He was born August 1, 2008 to Lawrence Nixon and Melodie Murphy at Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina. He was a young man full of life, laughter, and an energy that brightened every room he entered. Lucas was educated in the public schools of Columbia and was a student at Keenan High School. He was eagerly looking forward to graduating in June of 2026. He was a very extroverted, joyful soul who loved talking to people and helping others. There was never a dull moment with him. He was a son, a brother, a friend, and a partner. He enjoyed being outdoors, was very athletic, and loved sports such as skateboarding and tennis. He also loved to cook and even more, he loved to eat. His enthusiasm for food was unforgettable. He enjoyed anime, espcially JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and Fire Force. Lucas also had a strong sense of style and was knwon for his confidence in anything he wore. He deeply loved his girlfriend, Marley, and their bond was cherished by both of them. His kindness, his warmth, and his love for others will forever be remembered. Lucas once told his brother, "When i grow up, I want to be a cook! I want to help animals." He had dreams and aspirations, but the one he held closest was graduating high school. Lucas made friends easily and was a friend to many. Lucas was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Nixon. He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving and devoted mother, Melodie (Timothy) Murphy; two brothers, Lawrence Nixon, Jr. and Timari Murphy; two sisters, Myra Nixon and Malani Murphy; maternal grandmother, Jennifer Anderson, all of Columbia, SC; maternal grandfather, Melvin Scott, of Camden, SC; paternal grandmother, Shirley Nixon; paternal grandfather, Jamie Baker, all of Columbia, SC; his special friend, Marley and a host of other loving relatives and friends. Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, February 6, 2026 at A. A. Dicks Funeral Home, 6400 North Main Street, Columbia, South Carolina 29203. Interment to follow in the Promised Land Cemetery. Elder Stanley Coleman, officiant. Public viewing will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Thursday, February 5, 2026 and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service, Friday, February 6, 2026 at A.
