Ms. Karen Rose Marie Guy

In Loving Memory of Karen Rosemarie Guy Karen Rosemarie Guy, was born on April 7, 1983 in Miami, Florida. Her journey through life took her from the warm shores of Miami to the serene town of Bishopville, South Carolina, in 2000, where she attended Lee Central High School until 2001. Karen then moved to Columbia, South Carolina, where she dedicated her time and efforts to serving others as a Dietary Aide for Prisma Health Richland and Pruitt Health. At the time of her untimely passing, she was an integral part of The Ritedose Corporation, where she held aspirations and dreams close to her heart. Karen’s life was marked by both joy and sorrow. Along her path, she faced the painful loss of several family members, including her mother, Reta Guy; father, Charles Guy, grandmother, Inette Rose, brother, Martin Boothe, and brother Lenworth Troope. Despite these hardships, Karen’s spirit remained resilient, and she found immense joy in the role of motherhood. On August 23, 2008, Karen embraced the profound journey of motherhood, welcoming her son, Jamel into the world. Later, on March 8, 2016, she experienced the pure joy of adding another bundle of love, Nariah, to her family. Karen’s love for her children knew no bounds, and she tirelessly worked to provide them with a bright future. She believed in leading by example, returning to school to earn a Certificate in Home Healthcare and completing her high school education, with plans to graduate and receive her Diploma on April 7, 2024. In addition to her children, Karen is mourned by her siblings, Beverley Davis, Juliet Lee, Lorenzo Troope, Richard Guy, David Guy (Derrick), and Charlene Guy; her nieces and nephews, Desmond, Demar, DeAndra, McArthur (Jody), Lamara, Michael, Tony, Dawn, Monique, Malcolm, Stephen, and all grandnieces/nephews share in the collective grief, along with dear friends, work colleagues at Ritedose Corporation, and her cherished friend, Kenneth Smith. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 24, 2024 at A. A. Dicks Funeral Home, 6400 North Main Street, Columbia, South Carolina 29203. Interment will follow in the Greenlawn Memorial Park. Public viewing will be from 12 noon until 6:00 p.m., Friday, February 23, 2024 and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service, Saturday, February 24, 2024 at A. A. Dicks Funeral Home.
