Funeral services for Ms. Juanita Williams of Columbia, SC will be held on Wednesday January 21, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. from Friendship Baptist Church, 1237 House Street, Columbia. Interment will follow in Promised Land Cemetery. Public viewing will be held on Tuesday January 20, 2015 from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Ms. Williams entered into rest on Saturday January 17, 2015 at Providence Hospital. A. A. Dicks Funeral Home Sullivan Chapel, 2548 Main Street, Columbia is in charge of these arrangements. God breathed life into Juanita Gloria Williams through the late Henry Thompson and Pearl Macbeth Williams on May 28, 1931 in Columbia, South Carolina. “Nita” was educated in the public schools of Richland County and graduated with the class of 1950 from Booker T. Washington High School. She furthered her education at Benedict and Midland Technical Colleges. Ms. Williams worked as a dietician supervisor at Richland Memorial Hospital and retired after serving thirty dedicated years. After retirement, she volunteered at The Harvest Hope Food Bank for fifteen years. “Neet”, as she was also affectionately known, was also a faithful member of the Friendship Baptist Church – House Street and was affiliated with The Mary S. Jones Chapter #509 Order of Eastern Star. “Momma Nita” loved her family unconditionally and always instructed them with her favorite saying, “It’s just one of those things.” She was an amazing mother, grandmother, great grandmother and woman who loved all. In return, she was loved by many adopted sons and daughters because of the inspiration she distributed to everyone she came in contact with. Some of her favorite hobbies included fishing, cooking and traveling. She was preceded in death by her parents and all her siblings. Surviving are her two daughters, Gloria Jean Williams and Constance “Bonnie” (Marion) Watson; two granddaughters, Gloria Re-Nite’ and Adelaide Rochell Watson; two great grandsons, Jaden Isaiah Jones and Master Jackson Briggs Watson; three nephews, Robert James, Ronald and Nathaniel Williams; four nieces, Gloria (Thomas) Prescott, Geraldine (Zack) Dunlap and Brenda Kaye and Glenda Faye Williams; a grand niece, Tonya Rochelle Williams; three great grand nieces, Gabrielle Elise Gibson, Chrislyne Ann Spain and Sha’Taurus Williams; a grand nephew, Taurus Williams, Sr.; a great grand nephew, Taurus Williams, Jr.; a step daughter, Antoinette (Richard) Huiett; a step son, Harold (Onita) Middleton; adopted son, Reverend Floyd (Helen) Murdaugh; three special pets “Cotton” “Finn” and “Carter” and a host of other relatives and friends.
