Mrs. Josephine M. Scott

Mrs. Josephine Scott, 92, of Columbia, South Carolina entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at Pruitt Health Blythewood. She was born October 25, 1932 in Marion County, South Carolina. Mrs. Josephine Scott attended the Public Schools of Marion County. She later attended Allen University in Columbia, South Carolina where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Education. Her work career included Greenview Elementary School. She also the proud owner of The Scott's Day Care Center where she affectionately cared for children of all ages for over forty years until she retired. She loved her family very dearly. She loved to cook and bake for Sunday Dinners and they were the truth! Josephine was a very strong believers in prayer and at an early age accepted our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a kind hearted soul and was loved by so many that entered her path of life. She joined Reid Chapel A.M.E. Church, a family she loved so much. She served on the Senior Usher Board, Senir Choir, and Jubilee Choir. She also served very faithfully as a team leader for many years. Mrs. Josephine Scott was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Belton Scott and her parents, Mr. English McClellan and Mrs. Lena Lewis McClellan. Josephine leaves behind precious memories in the hearts of her son, Belton A. (Linda) Scott; daughter, elinda Johnson; stepdaughter, Johnnie Mae Johnson; a sister, Lena Faye Mullins of Marion, SC; two grandchildren, Benjamin Williams and Micheal Williams of Columbia, SC; five great-grands; one god child, Eboni Stafford; a very caring ad special friend, Mrs. Rosa Means and host of nieces and nephews, neighbors, other relatives and friends whom she loved dearly. Funeral service will be 12 noon, Monday, November 11, 2024 at Reid Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church, 704 Gabriel Street, Columbia, South Carolina 29203. The Reverend Carey A. Grady, Pastor, officiating. Interment to follow in the Palmetto Cemetery. Public viewing will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Sunday, November 10, 2024 at A. A. Dicks Funeral Home.
