Known to others as "Mann", was born July 20, 1960 in Columbia, South Carolina to the late James A. Suber, Sr. and Mary Jane Salley Suber. He was educated in the public schools system of Richland County. James was alway was very optimistic, adventurous and enthusiastic child. As an adult James embodied a spirit of love and compassion towards his family. His snese of humor and candid coversation were unmatched, always saying what was on his mind and being his true authentic self. James was best known for his unconditional love for everyone and a joyous bright smile that could light up any room. Talented also with words, he was able to write beautiful poetryand minister words of encouragement that would surely uplift you. James had a work life balance that allowed him to work and live doing the things that made him smile on a day to day basis. James was a dedicated employee at Richland Memorial Hospital for many years, later in life, he showed great customer service and community love while being employed at the Farmer's Market. He was united in holy matrimony to Elaine Jones Suber. James was preceded in death by his sister, Zena (Levern) Thompson; a brother, Jimmy Lee Harrison; two nieces, Victoria Edmonds and Shawnetta Harrison. James is survived to by two sons, James Suber, III and Pierre Suber; two bonus children, Donnell and Tamika Weeks; six grandchildren, Jerusalem Suber, Beatrice Suber, Vera Suber, Jasyah Suber, Anna Bouknight and Jah Henry; four siblings, Frank Suber, Elois (John) Edmonds, Yvonne Harrison, Yvette Sumter; four bonus siblings, Betty, Samuel, Ernest, and Ollie and a host of other loving relatives and friends. Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday, February 14, 2026 at A. A. Dicks Funeral Home, 6400 North Main Street, Columbia, South Carolina 29203. Interment to follow in Promised Land Cemetery. Reverend A. A. Dicks, Sr. Public viewing will be held from 12 noon until 6:00 p.m., Friday, February 13, 2026 and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service, Saturday, February 14, 2026 at A. A.
