Wyre II, 47, of Philadelphia, PA, affectionately known as Glen, “G”, and “Hubby”, departed this earthly life on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 in Columbia, SC. He was born on July 10, 1973 in Bronx, New York to Mr. Glentis Denfield Wyre, Sr. and the late Mrs. Mavis Cloretta Mike Wyre. Glen’s parents and family came to the states from Antigua and Barbuda and their culture remained prevalent in the household - reflecting how Glen and his six siblings were reared. Glen comes from a large tight-knit family. Glen grew up in Bronx, NY and at an early age he attended Sabbath school, and was an active member in services at City Tabernacle Seventh Day Adventist Church where he was baptized at fourteen years old. He was also a student at Mount Saint Michael Academy (an all boys college prep school). Glen furthered his education in Philadelphia, PA at Temple University and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. He was gainfully employed after college at a human services agency in the Finance Department before being promoted as the Purchasing & Requisitions Coordinator, IT Specialist, and the Maintenance and Facilities Supervisor. It was there that he met his wife, Renée Jenkins. Glentis was a witty, even-keeled, genial, well-rounded, family oriented man who was relentless when it came to supporting and protecting his family. He had a love for all sports, mainly New York teams, being a provider and enjoying his hobbies and life. Left in grief to cherish precious memories are: his wife; a daughter, Alanna; his father, Glentis D. Wyre, Sr.; his siblings: two sisters, Heather and Tracy of London, a brother, Sherwin of Antigua and two brothers and a sister, Winston and Dwayne and Renee of the United States. Additional lamenting family are: his dearest aunts, uncles, two nieces; a grand niece and a nephew, cousins, life-long friends, in-laws, and numerous former co-workers and associates that grew to love him.
