Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 13, 2020 at 1:00 P.M at A. A. Dicks Funeral Home - Sullivan Chapel, 2548 Main Street, Columbia, SC 29201. Interment will follow in The Greenlawn Memorial Park. Geneva went home to be with her Lord and Savior, on November 7, 2020. Geneva was an active member of Solomon’s Temple, where she served as a member of the Deaconess Board, President of the Pastor’s Aide, and was recognized as the Mother of the church. Geneva retired as a caregiver after thirty-nine years of serving others. Mrs. James was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin James; a son, Charles James; and siblings, Roberta Tucker, Geraldine Darby, Lillie Bell Izzard, Dorothy Mae Franklin, Samuel Darby, Jr., and Eugene Darby. Left to cherish her memories are: her daughters, Edith Darby Lennon, of Greensboro, NC, MaryAnn Darby, of Columbia, SC, and Brenda (Anthony) Joe, of Greelyville, SC; sons, Franklin James, Jr., Andrew (Darlene) James, Carl (Myra) James, and an adopted son, Rev. Solomon Jackson, Jr., all of Columbia, SC; three sisters, Mary Henry, of Columbia, SC, Patricia Dunmore, of Lane, SC, and Dora (Charles) Miller, of Greensboro, NC; four brothers, Swarls Darby, of New Haven, CT, Harry Darby, of Camden, NJ, Timothy (Kim) June, of Columbia, SC, and Leroy (Rose) June, of Kingstree, SC; twenty grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Mildred Cooper, of Lane, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
