Mrs. Abi O. Gibson

Mrs. Abi O. Gibson, 70 of Columbia, South Carolina has entered into eternal rest on December 25, 2025 at Lexington Medical Center. Mrs. Gibson was one of four children born to the late Albert and Donnie Lee Simmons Outing, Sr. She was born on March 28, 1955 in Richland Hospital. She graduated from C.A. Johnson High School of Columbia, South Carolina in 1972, and left more than a legacy behind but a lifetime full of unforgettable memories cherished dearly by her family. Her career as a medical assistant at Baptist Hospital as was as working as an insurance agent for State Farm was what she loved doing the most, helping people. She was a holy woman of God who devoted herself to Christ in baptism and served at Word of God Church and Ministries International Incorporated. She was a loyal wife to her late husband, Richard Gibson Sr.. She was also a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. Her family always came first. She was was one of the most thoughtful and enjoyable women to be around. A very caring and giving woman to everyone she knew. Her spirit always stayed pure and full of nothing but happiness and love. She was predeceased by her late husband, Richard Gibson Sr., as well as her son, Richard Gibson Jr. along with her brother, Albert Outing, Jr. and sister, Roshell Page. She is survived by: her daughter, Jeanese Gibson; granddaughters, Laila Saddler, Renasia Gibson and Menasia Gibson; great granddaughter and soon to be great grandson. As well as a host of nieces, nephews and loving family. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 5, 2026 at A. A. Dicks Funeral Home, 6400 North Main Street, Columbia, South Carolina 29203. Interment to follow in the Promised Land Cemetery. Elder Whitman Page Sr., officiant. Public viewing will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Sunday, January 4, 2026 and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service, Monday, January 5, 2026 at A. A. Dicks Funeral Home.
